Gula Java - Purwodadi

Sitting right next to the main road between Solo and Madiun, Purwodadi is ideally placed to receive visitors and the well-organised, spacious layout makes it particularly attractive and suitable for promotion as an agro-tourist destination.

Of the other mills in the Madiun area operated by PTPN XI, Sudhono and Pagottan have little steam powered equipment and Kanigoro has lost so much of its cane growing area with the expansion of Madiun that its continued operation is very much in doubt. Rejosari deservedly has its own separate section in this project.

Originally dating from 1832, Purwodadi typically processes about 2200 tonnes of cane per day with a maximum output of SHS quality sugar of just under 150 tonnes.
