Slide valve vacuum pumps continued to be built for some time after drop valves had become universal for mill engines. This vacuum pump at Tersana Baru, although not dated, appears to have been an early such example. Even where they do not carry plates, such Stork engines are readily identified from their characteristic valve gear. (RD)
